New addition Mike

We have a new addition to the ARC team this month!
Mike is a graphic designer with a specialism in corporate identity and years of design experience in the Travel & Leisure industry. He also has plenty of experience with websites. This will give ARC an additional dimension and ease the pressure within the design studio – not to mention result in our website being updated more often!

Our new stand for 2010

Its getting close to that time of year when we make our annual pilgrimage to Earls Court for the Museums and heritage show on the 12th-13th May. We are all are getting quite excited now. The hotels booked, we have new van and most exciting of all our stand is being produced as I type with all new graphics. You won’t be able to miss it this year its a visual feast covered in stuff we’ve been up to since you last saw us. If you get a chance come by and say hello. Maybe see you there?

Since the Dawn of Humanity (and before!)

April 6th, 2010

Ok, ok so its a bit dramatic, but this was a really interesting project for us to be involved in. Not only were the images supplied to us of an excellent quality (courtesy Irene and John Palmer) but the interesting and open brief, meant we could really go for an eye-catching design to get attention at busy shows and exhibitions all around the southern region. The pop-up banner wall and the two pull up banners are all designed to tell a small part of the story of Darwin’s Entangled Bank at Downe – a very special area for both historical and botanical reasons, as part of the celebration of Darwin’s life and achievements. After a full round of dates its back to base at Kent Wildlife Trust. You can find out more about this area and many other special places by visiting www.kentwildlifetrust.org.uk

New Education Packs for Natural England

April 6th, 2010

We have just added two new titles to Natural England’s set of educational packs for the southeast region.  As well as the previous pack we produced for Stodmarsh NNR, there are now packs for Wye NNR and Ham Street Woods NNR.  These packs include a CD of all the worksheets and other source materials for teachers.  They come in a hard folder with wipeable printed content pages for use while out and about with the students at the three reserves.  All the illustrations and many of the photographs were produced by ARC.  We look forward to hearing what the students think of the packs in the near future.

ARC on the tube

April 6th, 2010

Back in January we created artwork for Walk London’s ‘Winter Wanders’ weekend. The poster went up all over the London underground network. Now the event has been and gone, we are getting feedback on the success of the walking weekends promotion. Project director for Walk London, Alex Rook, said “Arc Creative Design got to the heart of the brief and quite rapidly came up with a strong brand for Walk London with which we were very pleased” when discussing with us how the event had gone down. For me, this project had particular resonance. During my time studying design at The London Institute, I always enjoyed seeing the artwork of the tube posters as I travelled to and from college and wished that one day, some of my artwork would grace those tunnels…dream come true!

Walk London regularly hold walking events all over the city and around Greater London. To find out more about these events and others, have a look at: www.walklondon.org.uk and maybe we’ll see you on a ‘Summer Stroll’ very soon!
